Welcome to our first day. No matter how well you think you have organized everything, there are always a few things that pop up. There were some children in grades three and below who had to be relocated to the Burton Elementary school, but other than that everyone was in the right place.Children were met by teachers and divided up into their respective classes. Some of the aides had to be reassigned where the need was greatest.
We received a list from BYU-I regarding the eleven student teachers who will be here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr. Larry Duque is the BYU-I professor who is supervising the Sr. Methods Practicum students. Teachers should give them as many opportunities as possible to teach and manage the classroom environment. A packet will be provided with additional information regarding this program.Children in Mrs. Wade's class are shown participting in one of the activities designed to emphasize hands-on participation. Mrs. Thomason is shown pulling a tablecloth from under dishes and silverware. What better way to explain laws of motion?
We will keep you posted each day as to what is happening at our Summer Learning Adventure.
